The Australian Capital Territory has released the latest ACT Skilled Occupation List for the Skilled Visa program.
The latest list, which comes into effect on 1 September 2016, specifies the skills that are in high demand in the ACT. There are 11 new occupations which have been removed from previous lists. New additions to the list include Mechanical Engineers, Graphic, Web and Multimedia Designers, Recruitment and Human Resource Advisors.
There have also been 13 occupations dropped from the latest list: Sales and Marketing Manager, Advertising Manager, Public Relations Manager, Engineering Manager, Cafe or Restaurant Manager (Excluding fast food), Financial Investment Adviser, Financial Investment Manager, Policy Analyst, Management Consultant, Organisation and Methods Analyst, Solicitor, Enrolled Nurse and Mothercarft Nurse.
Eligible applicants can apply for the state or territory nomination if their occupation is included as open to applicants in the current list. If an occupation is closed to applications, there may be other options to apply for skilled migration. Even non-citizens who are still overseas can apply to migrate to Australia under the skilled migration program if they skills and experience closely related to an open occupation on the ACT Skilled Migration List.
