The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has announced that from 12 December2016, visa applicants in China will be able to lodge visitor visa applications in Chinese through a new online service provided by Australian Visa Application Centres (AVACs).

The new optional online Visitor visa (Subclass 600) Tourist stream allows Chinese visitors to use the new Australian visa lodgement in Simplified Chinese to streamline the process of applying for a visa.  Individuals can complete their application online and in Chinese without visiting an office.

Applications will be translated and lodged with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for processing.

Further information is available on the VFS Global website.
